Violets Vessel

I placed chunks of clear, indigo and emerald green translucent glass on a sheet of white glass. As they melted and spread in the kiln, the layers of colour became thinner in places and thicker in others. I cold-worked the piece to get a uniform shape and added iridescent frit before a second firing . The final firing at a lower temperature over a slump mold gave the vessel its bowl shape.
